Round 7 shaped as a pivotal round in William Buck Premier, with a couple of games holding the famed eight point game status.

St Bernards blitzed Old Carey in the second term with eight goals to to to establish a match winning lead they would never relinquish, eventually running out winners by 19 points. The win sees St Bernard’s leapfrog the Panthers into second spot as Alex Boyse again kicked another bag of four goals.

Old Trinity sent Uni Blues to a fourth straight defeat as the T’s beat Blues for the first time at Uni Oval in a long long time. Old Trinity again showed their running power as they won by four goals with Weatherson and Polidoros both kicking three goals each.

Jeremy Hannan made his debut one to remember for Old Xaverians as the young forward booted four first half goals to help Xavs to a 50 point win. Matt Handley kicked five goals and John Shaw had the ball on a string in the ruck as Old Scotch tumbled to a fourth straight defeat. Old Xaverians moved into the four for the first time this year.

Collegians hung on to defeat Beaumaris by just four points at the Aquarium. Will Tardif’s new found love for the forward line was again on show as he booted three of the Lions ten goals for the day. A poor forst quarter for the Sharks was the difference as they played catch up football all day and their late rally – aided by three goals from Daniel Gribbin – was not enough to secure a much needed win.

De La Salle went toe-to-toe with University Blacks for the first quarter and a half before Blacks kicked seven of the next nine goals to win by 33 points. The loss confines De La to the bottom of the table and Blacks are back in calculations after a third straight win.
