The VAFA is pleased to announce Ken Petruco was voted in as a Life Member of our Association at Monday’s Annual General Meeting.

Ken, 78, is the President of VAFA radio partner, 96.5 Inner FM, and has played a leading hand in the broadcasting of VAFA games since 1998. He has voluntarily called 499 VAFA games on the airwaves as well as 450 episodes of the VAFA Footy Show of a Saturday morning throughout the season.

Through Ken’s leadership and foresight, Inner FM’s annual VAFA coverage has grown to 20 home and away matches, seven finals (inc William Buck Premier Women’s Grand Final), 18 morning programs, representative football, Premier B – U19 vote counts and a live broadcast of the Woodrow Medal & VAFA Awards Night.

Ken commenced his playing career as a talented ruckman with Parkside Amateurs U19s and seniors from 1958-61, before progressing to Collingwood and Port Melbourne.

The time, effort and dedication Ken has shown our Association has been remarkable and we congratulate him on his deserved recognition as a Life Member of the VAFA.
