Old Scotch made Sports Performance Tracking history over the weekend during their extra-time thriller against St Bernard’s.

With the tracking technology on 21 of the Old Scotch players, it allowed SPT to access the aerobic performance of the whole team. It was an SPT favourite, James Sansom, who covered the most ground with a busy 20.51km and hit a top speed of 26.88km/hr thanks in large to the two extra five-minute halves.

Complimenting Sansom’s outstanding effort was Gene Van Den Broek’s total distance covered of 18.48km, Jack Bull’s 18.46km and Joshua Halsall’s 18.14km. The team averaged 14.6km per player.

The Cardinals have been tracking their performance throughout the duration of the season and noticeable differences in results are below:

3 games at start of season:

Average Total Distance – 13,868

Average Top Speed – 26.04 km/hr

Average Zone 6 (21.6km/h and above) – 606m

3 games at end of season:

Average total distance – 14, 635

Average top speed – 26.64 km/hr

Average Zone 6 (21.6km/h and above) – 766m

With the ability to be able to track their aerobic and anaerobic efforts, Old Scotch have shown significant improvement as we arrive to the pointy end of the season.
