Old Trinity star, Harry Tinney, has been named captain of the Big V senior representative side for Saturday’s clash against the SAAFL at Trevor Barker Oval.

After being struck down with a soft tissue injury in Round 2 this season, the classy utility returned to the T’s fold in Round 7 against St Kevin’s and has since kicked four goals as he continues to prove his versatility up forward, through the midfield and down back.

Tinney has represented the VAFA at both U19 and senior level, and was named the VAFA’s best player of the Big V metro championship-winning unit who defeated the Northern Football League by five points last year.

He was named inaugural Premier Coaches MVP in 2014 and AFL Victoria Country’s Best VAFA Player following last year’s loss in Bendigo.

De La Salle star onballer/half back, Sam Williams, and Old Melburnians leader, Tom Paule, will work alongside Tinney as vice-captains, with both showcasing outstanding form in winning sides this year.

The final team will be announced on Thursday night.

The VAFA face off with the SAAFL 2:15pm Saturday at Trevor Barker Oval and admission is free.
