La Trobe University ended a three-game losing streak after they defeated Richmond Central by four points in a thriller at Kevin Bartlett Reserve. The Trobers led by three points at three quarter time and managed to hold on as both sides kicked six goals in an enthralling final term. Jonathon Neville had a day out for the Trobers with seven majors, while Travis Noffke was named best for the Snakes in his first senior match this year. Both sides now sit sixth and seventh on the Division 3 ladder, with the Snakes leading the Trobers by 4.54%.

UHS-VU narrowly avoided their first loss of the year as they finished the match 16 points ahead of a valiant Albert Park. The Vultures trailed at the half and led by just three points at the last break before registering three goals to one in the final term. Ryan Smith led the Vultures in a BOG display while Luke Childs kicked his third consecutive bag of three for the Falcons. The Vultures sit one game and 30% clear of Power House at the top of the table while the Falcons remain ninth and a game below the Snakes, Trobers and Dogs.

13 unanswered goals in the first three quarters helped Power House to a one-sided 133-point win over South Melbourne Districts at Ross Gregory Oval. The Swans managed their first and only goal in the fourth term via the boot of Mitchell Pickering but it was all the House as stalwart Adam Collett starred with five majors. Benjamin Circosta was named best afield for the second-placed House, while Harry Rothwell fought hard for the winless Swans.

Swinburne University ended a two-game winless run as they defeated Point Cook by 74 points at St James Park. One point separated the two sides at the first break before the Razorbacks piled on 13 of the last 15 goals. Richard Lugg bagged five goals for the winning side and Will Gubbins was named their best player for the second time in three weeks. Alex Grigg and Marcus Groves were the best of the eighth-placed Dogs. Swinburne are now a game clear in fourth position on the ladder following Canterbury’s loss to Westbourne.

Westbourne Grammarians held on in the final term and claimed a hard-fought five-point win over Canterbury at Westbourne School Ground. Trailing by 20 points at the final break, the Cobras came home with the wind and nailed 2.5 to two behinds to fall agonisingly short. Chris Hudson was instrumental to the Warriors’ win and was best afield while Jaxon Cooke kicked four majors. Jason Blakemore was best for the Cobras for the third game on the trot and Scott Fitzgerald kicked two goals. The Warriors are a game clear in third and the Cobras fall to fifth.
