The VAFA congratulates Caulfield Grammarians captain, Amy Dumas, who has been named this week’s Anytime Fitness Rising Star nominee after her best-on-ground performance in the Fields’ 23-point Premier win over Brunswick Renegades.

What the club said:

“Caulfield Grammarians Football Club Women’s Captain Amy Dumas has a long football background starting at Auskick. As a junior she played for East Brighton Vampires where she won best and fairest awards in premiership teams of 2014 and 2015.

She was a member of the SMJFL interleague team in 2014 and Sandringham Dragons and Victoria Metro squads in 2016. In 2016 she also played in MUGARS U18 premiership team.

After leaving Caulfield Grammar last year, Amy decided that she wanted to come to CGFC to help establish a women’s team so she could play with her mates from school. At the age of 19 she was elected as CGFC’s first women’s captain.

Amy is a skilled footballer with a high level of endurance. She is a competitor who loves to win whilst being scrupulously fair. As captain she is a great role model for her team mates and for VAFA women’s football.

Amy plays like Daisy Pearce, she has excellent all-round skills, reads the play well and can play in a variety of positions.

CGFC is proud that one of our own elected to join the inaugural VAFA women’s competition for the love of the game and the enjoyment of playing with mates from her school.”
