The VAFA congratulates Scotch Stars’ Amelia James who has been named the Round 5 Anytime Fitness Rising Star nominee.

What the club said:

“Amelia has played football for many years as a junior and she has represented her school, Genazzano, Kew Comets in the YJFL and last year at the East Malvern Knights.

Amelia plays a wide-range of sports with football possibly her favourite sport. She started Australian Rules football early days when girls football was in its infancy.

Amelia plays a lot like Tom Lynch from Adelaide with her ability to get up the ground and then push forward to score regularly with a high level of skill. She is a superb finisher and has a fantastic ability to bring others into the game when playing as a forward.

Amelia is new to Old Scotch this season but has played junior footy with a number of the OSFC Stars players and has relished the chance to reconnect with her football friends in an open age group.

Amelia was a part of the Oakleigh Chargers inaugural U15 program several years back and has remained connected to Oakleigh Chargers having played a futures match for Oakleigh this season.”
