Ian Cordner – Big V LegendIan Cordner in Big V Hanballing

Ian was named captain of the All Australian Amateurs in AAFC Carnival 1979. The All-Australian side played 2 games versus NT & ACT and Ian was best player against the ACT. In 1978, Ian became the only person to ever achieve the ‘VAFA trifecta’. Ian was the Premiership Captain for Old Melburnians, he won the B Grade Leading Goalkicker Award, The B Grade Competition Best and Fairest (Moore Medal). The Premier B Section Grand Final Best Player medal is named after Ian and is called the ‘Ian Cordner’ Medal’. Ian was made a Big V Champion in 2008 and was elevated to the status of Big V Legend in 2013.
