Michael Blood – Big V ChampionMichael Blood in Big V Jumper

Michael Blood was one of the most feared opponents in the VAFA as he traumatised opponents through one of the most dominant eras any club has produced. Leading the line at Old Xaverians for a decade he was a premiership player in all of their six straight A Section flags from 1995-2000, captaining the last four of those six. An on field leader, Blood often dragged his teammates along with him to ensure victory, and he regularly had his teammates following him into the celebrations after match too. As a Big V player, Blood was one of the first named, revelling at the chance to play at the highest level with the best players, Blood was best on ground in three of his ten matches for the Big V. The 1997 Woodrow Medallist was captain of the Big V on five occasions and was inducted to the Big V Club as a Champion in 2014.
