CLUB WAREHOUSE RISING STAR WEEK 6

Congratulations to Club Warehouse Rising Star Nomination for Week 7 of the VAFA Season, Old Scotch’s Tim Macmillan.
Brother of North Melbourne defender Jamie Macmillan, Tim shot to national prominence in the epic 2012 TAC Cup Grand Final for the Oakleigh Chargers against the Calder Cannons.
With AFL talent scouts, a Docklands Stadium crowd and a television audience watching on, Macmillan kicked the tying goal with no time left on the clock. Oakleigh subsequently won by a point in extra time and Macmillan was lauded for his ice cool nerves under intense pressure. When quizzed about the kick, Macmillan admitted knowing the score/situation, but steeled his resolve by reminding himself that it was an easy kick.
These days Macmillan plays across half back at Old Scotch where his neat disposal, smart decision-making and manic tackling are a hallmark of his play. Macmillan’s first memories of football are from Auskick as a 5 year old and lining up for the Camberwell Sharks Tackers.
In more recent times, Macmillan played 3 games last season at Port Melbourne in the VFL as a defender coming on as the 23rd man. When not playing football, the modest, softly spoken Macmillan is a freakish top order batsmen for Old Scotch Cricket Club during the summer and a commerce student at Melbourne Uni.
Asked what he hopes to achieve in football, Tim said, “I am not sure where I hope it leads me to, but I just want to enjoy it and play at a level that challenges me”.
