Former Coburg captain leads huge crop of Two Blues recruits

Prahran Assumption has unveiled a crop of eight new players over the weekend as they build towards a successful 2017 season in Division 2.

After managing just three wins and a tie from their 18 matches last year, the Two Blues secured the services of former Assumption College First XVIII captain and best and fairest, Eric Kuret.

Kuret has endured an esteemed career since graduating Assumption College in 2001, including a TAC Cup Grand Final victory for Calder Cannons and leading Coburg as skipper in 2005.

He was named the Central Murray Football League competition best and fairest in 2009, while claiming three A-grade premierships at Greenvale in the EDFL.

Making the announcement on Facebook, Prahran Assumption admitted they had been chasing Kuret vigorously since Prahran Assumption was born in 2010, but “the lure of finishing his footy playing days in the old school colours, helping mentor younger players, meeting new people within the PAFC network and satisfying his competitive urge were ultimately the lures for to convince Eric to finish his playing days off wearing his old school jumper”.

Kuret will be joined by Jordan Bates (Ganmain FC), Jake Hutchison (Perth), Bryce Heeps (Charlton), Tom Atwell (ACK), Joey Whiting (Mount Pleasant FC), Tom Gubbins (Beaconsfield & Endeavour Hills FC) and 2014 McLeod Medallist Brodie Hodson (Ilrymple).
