Tony Borrack– 317 Game

Comm Bank was Tony’s chosen ammo side and all went well until 1994 when the Bank decided to pull the pin on financially assisting the club. Commonwealth Bank morphed into a new side known as Southbank.

While playing for Comm Bank Tony had a firm grip on the club Best and Fairest winning the top award on no less than four occasions – 1965, 1967, 1968 ,and again in 1973.

Season 1973 was a hectic time for Tony as he not only took home the club B & F

he had the dual role of captain and coach.

These days Tony follows Whitefriars and was made a Life member of Friars in 1999.

 

Club Career– Commonwealth Bank/Southbank

  • Began a career with Comm Bank up until 1994 when the Bank decided to no longer financially assist the club– resulting in a new side which became known as Southbank
  • Under Comm Bank, won the club Best and Fairest on no less than four occasions–1965, 1967, 1968, and 1973
  • 1973 saw Tony undertake the dual role of captain and coach of the club while also taking home the cub Best and Fairest
  • Today Tony follows the Whitefriars and is a life member
