Caulfield Grammarians re-entered the top four after they defeated Mazenod by 116 points at Glenhuntly Oval. The Fields led by 34 points on the back of seven goals to two in the openin half but accelerated with 13 goals to one thereafter. Will Osborn, Jack Wallace and Nick Baltas each booted three goals for the Fields, while Wallace was named BOG for the second week in a row. Shaun Lovell kicked two of the Nodders’ three goals as they look to beat Uni Blacks to have any chance of avoiding relegation. The Fields replace the Sharks in fourth and now need to beat Parkdale to secure a finals berth.

St Bernard’s went one step closer to securing a top two spot and the double chance with a commanding 91-point win over Monash Blues at the Frearson Oval. The ladder leaders bounced back from last week’s loss to Caulfield Grammarians with nine unanswered goals in the first term; including five to Chad Jones en route to eight for the match. Jones has 95 goals from 14 games. Charlie Vague and four goals from Michael Caven helped the Snow Dogs to another 11 goals to six after quarter time. Nick Woodland kicked three for the Blues while Nicholas Argento and Nick Petering were standouts. The Snow Dogs are a game and more than 60% above the Blacks in third, while the Blues are eighth and a game above Ajax and Mazenod.

Parkdale Vultures obtained their sixth win of the season with a 32-point victory over Ajax at Gerry Green Reserve. Leading by two points at the main break, the Vultures piled on nine goals to four in a dominant second half. Zac Straker and Brayden Stevenson were named best for the Vultures and Jackson Boland top-scored with three goals. Richie Simon and Stuart Fayman fought valiantly for the Jackas as they try to avoid relegation when they face the Snow Dogs next weekend.

Old Carey’s bid to claim the double chance strengthened when they defeated Old Haileybury by 33 points at Princes Park, Caulfield. Trailing by nine points at quarter time, the Panthers hit back with nine goals to two in the second and third terms. Haileybury finished strongly with six goals to five in the final term but it wasn’t enough as they suffered their 12th loss of the year. They are, however, now officially safe from relegation given they are two wins ahead of the Jackas and Nodders with one round remaining. They Panthers sit one game ahead of the Blacks and face Monash next weekend.

Uni Blacks proved far too strong for Beaumaris, running out 79-point winners at the Uni Oval. The Blacks kicked four goals to one with the wind in the opening term and continued their hot form with another five goals to two against the wind giving them a 35-point half time lead. It was much of the same in the second half with the Blacks kicking another nine goals to three. Hugh Curnow is in award-winning form for the Blacks, kicking four goals and being named best afield for the second consecutive game. Louis Vescio recorded three majors, while Lachlan Huntington impressed. Ben McLean and Jordan Smith were strong for the Sharks as they lose fourth spot to the Fields.
