“The Committee of the Richmond Central Football & Netball Club are delighted to announce the appointment of George Koumantatakis as Senior Coach for 2018.

George joins the club after a long coaching tenor at Swinburne University which saw him lift their club out of Division 4 and play finals two out of the last three seasons in Division 3.

He brings a great deal of passion for the game and knowledge of our division along with his many years of experience. George showed great enthusiasm about the chance to work with our club to drive towards a successful 2018 and beyond which ultimately led him to being appointed.

We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Shane Kelly as Assistant Coach who joins the club after being the senior coach of Glen Eira for the last two years, which saw him lead them to the 2016 Division 3 premiership and subsequent promotion in his first year as coach.

Prior to that Shane coached with George at Swinburne. Shane also comes from a teaching background which gives us a great deal of confidence in our ability to develop players skills over the coming year.

By bringing in such experience to our club to lead our highly talented list, we feel the like the Snakes are destined for a big 2018.”
