Wan’diny bun’ma at the Main

After the success of the first-ever Indigenous game in the VAFA last year, University Blacks Football Club want to invite the family and friends of the current playing group, the family and friends of the past players, past players, community members and the wider VAFA community to “Wan’diny bun’ma at the Main” which translates in Kabi Kabi language to “Gather together and lift up”.

The club has gone one step further in 2018 and renamed their indigenous celebration “Wan’diny bun’ma at the Main”, with a pre-game event consisting of a welcome smoking ceremony to both teams by a Wurundjeri Elder Aunty Diane Kerr.

Both seniors and reserves will be wearing the specifically-designed indigenous jumper that was unveiled last year and designed by our very own Big V representative Tyrone Bean as well as Alex Kerr.

The VAFA congratulates Tyrone and the University Blacks on their work in the indigenous space and encourage all supporters to get down to the Main this weekend for another fantastic day.
