After leading De La Salle to eight wins from their 11 games this year, Dave Madigan has been reappointed as senior men’s coach for the 2022 Premier B season.
Madigan, who took the reins for the second time following the departure of Peter Schwab last year, had the Dees well-placed to compete in finals before COVID brought about an untimely end to the season.
“Our players across the board have done an amazing job in 2021 and deserved the chance to play finals,” Madigan said in the club’s announcement.
“I’m looking forward to building on what we have done and parlaying the best of season 2021 and the improvements we can make into 2022.”
De La Salle President, Matt O’Callaghan, expressed the club’s delight at locking in Madigan for another year and another shot at the title.
“We look forward to our third attempt to march back into Premier A after the past two COVID-affected seasons have thwarted our legitimate attempts to earn promotion,” he said.
Madigan coached De La to an A Section Grand Final appearance in 2009 during his first tenure at the club before spending four seasons at Box Hill as a senior assistant.
