Masala will enter the 2019 Division 4 season under a new banner after they officially changed their name to Masala Dandenong Football Club.
Taking to Facebook to announce the news to their members and supporters, the Tigers said the new name will strengthen their ties with the local community.
“(Masala Dandenong Football Club) will bring us closer to the local Dandenong community, giving us a stronger connection with the businesses and players in the area,” they wrote.
The news of their name change comes alongside a new website and logo, and follows their relocation to Fotheringham Reserve last year.
Commencing in 2013 as a truly multicultural club, the Tigers spent their first two seasons in Club XVIII and, whilst their record is not overly successful, the club is driven to grow and provide a pathway for players of all backgrounds to play Australia’s game. In 2015, they became a senior club, entering a seniors and reserves side in Division 4.
