The VAFA Board would like to formally advise that there has been a change of leadership at Board level.
At Monday night’s Board Meeting current President George Voyage was succeeded by Mick Overman as VAFA President. As Members will be aware, Mick has been a Board Member since 2017, served as VAFA Treasurer for last 3 years, and overseen VAFA Finances across (2) COVID interrupted seasons. Mick was also FGI Chair in 2020.
Adam Kirkwood-Scott stepped down as Vice President and Dean Matthews accepted nomination for the role. Dean has been FGI Chair since December 2020 and joined the Board earlier that year.
The Treasurer’s role, left vacant by Mick Overman’s elevation to President, will be filled by Adam Kirkwood-Scott. Adam has been Vice President since 2019 and previously was Treasurer from 2015-2018. Adam joined the Board in 2012.
All of the above positions will remain in place until the first Board Meeting after the 2021 AGM (2022 date to be determined).
The VAFA Board thank former President George Voyage for his longstanding service, dedication and passion for the VAFA across a 12-year period, the last 3 years as President. George remains a valued member of the VAFA Board.
