UHS-VU, La Trobe hand out lessons in Division 3

Hawthorn came from 11 points down at the final break and ran over Swinburne University by one-point in Division 3 thriller at St James Park. Despite recording 32 scoring shots to 21, the Hawks were trailing the Razorbacks for the majority of the last quarter, before late goals and a screamer from Steve Wintle solidified the points.

Glen Eira were pushed to the final siren in their Round 12 clash with Power House, coming out seven-point winners at Ross Gregory Oval. Adrian Flowerday starred in a best-on-ground performance, while Adam Collett kicked three goals for Power House in their eighth loss of the season.

A combined nine goals from Jeremy Price (five) and Thomas Lowden (four) helped Canterbury to a comfortable 31-point win against Aquinas at Canterbury Sports Ground. Cameron Woods performed at 110% for the Cobras, while Billy O’Loughlin snagged four goals for the Bloods.

South Melbourne were far too strong for Albert Park in their Round 12 match up, defeating the Falcons by 38 points at Beaurepaire Pavilion. Jordan Heis and Zephyr Howson registered three goals each for the Swans, while Adrian Snowden mirrored their feats with three for the Falcons.

Seven goals from Nick Devereux helped UHS-VU to a comfortable 76-point win against Parkside at Pitcher Park. John Clark chipped in with four for the Vultures, while Matt Ross nailed two for the Red Devils.

A 12-goal to five second half gave La Trobe University a 48-point victory against Elsternwick at Elsternwick Park. Mitch Gleeson kicked six goals for the winning side and Scott Grace registered four majors for the Wickers.
