For the VAFA named umpires we offer a special congratulations to our umpires as for all of them it will be their first representative game.
Ben Lavale is only 17 and has shown remarkable progress this year. REcruiter from the Yarra Juniors, he has a long association with the VAFA, with his father Paul playing at Power House.
Sean Scully Jrn gets his first representative game after 12 years with the VAFA. When he is not umpiring his is working his way through the emergency services, the former policeman is now becoming a fireman.
Luke and Mitchel Bevan are the first known twins to umpire a VAFA representative game of football. So devoted to the boy’s efforts on the weekend, their father Geoff has now also joined the boundary umpire ranks at the VAFA.
Patrick Dwyer is in his first year with the VAFA and much like Ben, has been a great performer this year to earn his first representative game appearance.
We also welcome the visiting umpires from the Victorian Country leagues and wish them all the best for Sunday.
