Brett Connell – VAFA CEO

VAFA Members, Life Members and Board met on Monday evening to consider requisitions to remove two current Board Members.

The results of the deliberations and voting saw the motion to remove Dean Matthews unsuccessful, while the motion to remove Mick Overman was successful.

The VAFA Board will convene shortly to determine how the casual vacancy left by Mick Overman’s departure will be filled and also determine Board leadership heading into the 2021 AGM.

The VAFA Board and Administration would like to recognise Mick Overman for his service to the Board across his 6 year involvement. More recently Mick has been VAFA Treasurer (2019-2021), Chair – Football Growth & Integrity (2020) & Chair – Finance & Risk (2019-2021). Mick has also had other secondary roles across various sub-committees particularly in the areas of football and finance. Through two years of COVID challenges, Mick helped to ensure the VAFA and clubs have remained viable.

The VAFA 2021 AGM will be held on Monday March 21, 2022, with further details to be distributed in regards to the meeting particulars and the election for Board positions for the next cycle.
