The VAFA extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of VAFA Life Member Peter Hutchinson following his recent passing.

Hutchinson played a total of 363 Amateur games, including 357 with Power House and six with Old Camberwell. His playing career at Power House was littered with accolades as he was a seven-time best and fairest award winner and three-time premiership player (1959, 1971 and 1973).

Following a distinguished playing career, Hutchinson coached Old Camberwell from 1978-80 and claimed the ’78 premiership.

He played representative football against South Australia (1961) and was the first coach of the Big V C – F side and remained undefeated from 1981-83.

His coaching days were followed by years as a Big V selector for the C – F side (1987-91) and A – B team (1992 – 2004).

Hutchinson was inducted as a Big V Champion in 2008 and served as a member of the VAFA executive from 1993 – 2005.

He received the inaugural VAFA Personality of the Year award in 1972 and was made an Honorary Life Member of the VAFA in 2005.

May Peter rest in peace.
