The Premier of Victoria recently opened nominations for the 2014 Victoria Premier’s Volunteer Awards. Nominations are being sought across six categories.
Nominations for the 2014 Victorian Premier’s Volunteer Awards were officially opened on June 3 by Premier Denis Napthine.
Each year, the Awards highlight some outstanding achievements made by volunteers across Victoria and are a great opportunity to recognise, thank and celebrate their  significant contribution and support.
The 2014 Awards will cover six categories:
• Victorian Volunteer of the Year – Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Award ($10,000 to donate to their chosen charity)
• Regional Youth Volunteer of the Year ($2,000 for chosen charity)
• Regional Volunteer of the Year ($2,000 for chosen charity)
• Metropolitan Youth Volunteer of the Year ($2,000 for chosen charity)
• Metropolitan Volunteer of the Year ($2,000 for chosen charity)
• New Resident Volunteer of the Year (open all ages) ($2,000 for chosen charity)
Within the VAFA we have hundreds of volunteers each and every week and this is a great way to promote and acknowledge their efforts and work they do. The chance to give formal recognition for their contribution to their clubs is just a small way you can reward them.
Please note – nominations close on 1 August.
