Westbourne Grammarians concluded an unblemished year as a champion team of Division 4, defeating Point Cook by 17 points at St Bernard’s College. Point Cook were the best side in the first three quarters and held the lead at every change. However, the Warriors went to another level with four answered goals in the final term as best on ground medallist, Chris Hudson, pulled down every mark that came his way. Justin Johns and Charles Hunter kicked three each for the Warriors, while Mason Kip led valiantly for the Bulldogs. Christopher Sneddon was electric for the winning side, clashing with Lachlan Bell in an exciting one-on-one battle. Both sides will now look to improve as they enter Division 3 in 2017.
Completing the perfect day, the Warriors reserves proved too strong for the Bulldogs in their earlier match as they ran out 35-point winners. Shane Walalce starred with four goals, while Peter Magann was named best afield for his standout performance.
