St John’s strengthened their grip atop the Division 2 ladder with a 43-point win against Emmaus St Leo’s at Bennettswood Sports Ground. Tim Edwards kicked four for the JOCs and Aaron Thornton three as they put on a clinical display and rarely looked threatened. Paul Baranello returned after a week on the sidelines and was clearly the Animals’ best.

Yarra Valley kept Richmond Central winless and claimed their second for the year with a 51-point win at Doncaster Reserve. 12 goals to six in the second half proved the difference as Jordan Canham made the most of superb midfield delivery with four majors for the Bushrangers. Steven Bugeja snagged three for the Snakes as they continue to search for their first four points of the season.

MHSOB came from behind to record their greatest win of the year, running over Old Eltham by 39 points at Melbourne High. Trailing by 16, 13 and five points at each of the breaks in play, the Unicorns piled on nine goals to two in the final term in a clinical display of forward line prowess. Kane Smith was the main recipient up forward for the Unicorns with six majors, while Ben Gill continued his outstanding individual form with eight for the losing side. Gill now has 22 for the year despite the Turtles being unable to register a win as of yet.

West Brunswick bravely held on to defeat Bulleen Templestowe by seven points in a low-scoring affair at Ransford Oval. Just 12 goals were kicked for the match and no individual player snagged more than two. Henry Paez was named best for the 4-1 Westies, while Lachlan Bruce did his utmost for the fifth-placed and 2-2 Bullants.
