Unicorns outlast Bullants in thriller, Bushrangers outrun Turtles with come-from-behind victory

Yarra Valley maintained their spot in the four and kept Eltham Collegians winless with a 12-point victory at Eltham College. Trailing by nine points with a quarter to play, the Bushrangers kicked five goals to two in the fourth term. Melbourne High School Old Boys registered their best win for the year in a three-point thriller against Preston Bullants at W.R. Ruthven Reserve. Leading by 27 points at the last break, the Unicorns allowed 4.6 to just their one straight goal in the fourth term but crept over the line thanks in large to inaccuracy in front of the Bullants’ goal. Kane Smith added three goals to his overall season tally of 16 and Steve Villani dominated in a best-on-ground performance. Olsen Clark was at the forefront of the Bullants’ revival, while Kent Beaumont kicked two.
