After going undefeated on their way to the Premier C flag, Williamstown CYMS were rewarded with a VAFA-high six players in this year’s Team of the Year. Two-time Zachariah Medallist Yuma Hemphill leads the all-star CYs cast alongside premiership coach Matt Montebello.
As one of the most courageous leaders in the competition, Mal Mitris has been named captain at CHB while B-D4 Big V representative Tom Warby is vice.
The top four leading goal kickers, Jake Lew, Lachlan Fairley, Jack Welham and Sam Bradford, form a large part of the forward line alongside Ormond and PEGS star Simon Buckley and Cam Livori.
The selection process for all sections changed this year with coaches given the opportunity to nominate their own players for consideration while also choosing players from opposition teams. This, in conjunction with VAFA Media nominations, formed a more rounded selection committee.
