St Bedes / Mentone Tigers secured another season in Premier section for 2013 with a comprehensive 35 point win over a disappointing St Bernards at Sportscover Arena.
Shaun Glennen kicked seven goals for the Tigers as St Bernards were held goalless in the first half.
Paul Wintle was dominant all day and was voted best on the ground by the Inner FM commentary team.
St Bernards didn’t kick a goal until the 10 minute mark of the third quarter via their skipper Danny Byrne who was playing his 150th game for the Snowdogs.
The Bernies thought they were still a chance going in to the final term and they peppered the scoreboard end goals at Sportscover with 6.5 for the quarter, however Glennen’s seventh goal stamped out the prospect of the comeback getting out of second gear.
Next week St Bedes / Mentone Tigers will be aiming to win three in a row as they play at the winless Caulfield Grammarians.
St Bernards have the difficult task of travelling to Waverley Park to face De La Salle looking to bounce back after their horror loss yesterday.
At Sportscover Arena next weekend its all about the Club XVIII finals series with three games all on Sunday.
