DI LANGTON WINS BEST FOOTBALL COLUMN AT AFL VIC AWARDS

By VAFA · November 18, 2012

The Amateur Footballer’s Premier B Scribe Di Langton has won the Best Print Column Award at the AFL Victoria Community Football Media Awards held on Friday at Etihad Stadium.
The VAFA was nominated in three categories but it was a selection of Ms Langton’s weekly columns that saw her win from four other nominations of football writers from all over the state.
Ms Langton was unable to accept the award as she was on holiday but when contacted and told of the win said,”That is fantastic, I can’t believe I actually won, thank you to the VAFA for nominating me.”
The Awards traditionally were held annually for the VCFL but this year were opened up to metropolitan football leagues for the first time and consisted of 10 categories across a range of media formats.
The VAFA also had nominations for 96.5 Inner FM’s Best Matchday Broadcast (won by EDFL Radio) and the Best Football Radio Show (won by the Huddle from the EFL).
All awards were shared amongst the nominees across all categories.
The awards were held at Etihad Stadium with attendees from football competitions and media outlets enjoying the chance to get together and acknowledge each others work from the 2012 season.
