Eagles end winless streak, Nodders cruise to 11 straight

Mazenod’s unbeaten run to start the season continued when they defeated Old Ivanhoe by 43 points at Chelsworth Park. Leading by 11 points with one quarter to play, the Nodders registered six goals to one in the fourth as Brad Kovac added to his tally and ended up with four goals for the day. Liam Welsford kicked two in a best-on-ground display for the Nodders, while Adrian Del Monte snagged three for the fourth-placed Hoes.

Williamstown CYMS came from five points down at the last break and ran over Ormond for a 12-point victory at Glenhuntly Oval. Zac Read was the main recipient of the dominant midfield with three goals for the CYs, while James Landman, Jeremy Simon and Rob Chisholm combined for six goals for the Monders. The Cys moved to fifth on the Premier C ladder, while the Monders remain ninth with just two wins for the year.

A five-goal haul from Louis O’Keefe helped Caulfield Grammarians burn off a relentless Old Camberwell and run out 18-point victors at Gordon Barnard Reserve. The Fields held a seven-point lead with one quarter to play and booted three goals to two in the fourth. Jordan Stewart starred alongside O’Keefe for the Fields, while Thomas Kanz kicked four for the second consecutive week for the Wellers.

Marcellin’s five-game winless streak was to put to an end as they defeated Oakleigh by 39 points at Marcellin College earlier today. Jeremiah Antypas kicked four goals for the Eagles and made it 10 from his past three games, while Daniel McMahon and Daniel Redmond were outstanding throughout the match. Thomas Nolan and Luke Andreatta stood tall for the Krushers, who sit in seventh and three spots above the Eagles.

Peninsula continued their mid-season resurgence with a monster 64-point victory against Kew at Peninsula School Ground. 31 scoring shots to 12 told the story of the Pirates dominance, with Stefan Barbour bagging five goals alongside Shaun Payze’ three. Nick Fisher was irrepressible for the second consecutive week and named BOG, while Andrew Brazzale snagged four goals for the Bears.
