Congratulations to Monash Blues midfielder, Nicholas Woodland, who has been nominated as the Round 8 Grill’d Rising Star on the back of his standout performance against Fitzroy over the weekend.
“Nick’s first year playing at Monash Blues was last year after arriving to Monash University from Lakes Entrance. He played both Seniors and Under 19’s last year and began his first full season of Seniors this year.
Nick plays like Dom Tyson from Melbourne as he can be moved anywhere and consistently wins the football both inside and outside. Nick is an extremely tough, hard-working footballer who can mix inside and outside midfielder roles.
He returned for season 2016 extremely fit and the hard work over the summer has really paid off. Nick is renowned for his hard work and training ethic. He loves his football which has been a real driving force for the link between the footy club and Monash Sport.”
