Cliff Bastow
Cliff Bastow was a foundation member of the West Brunswick Amateur Football Club in 1959. Bruce was a highly skilled player achieving a total of 224 games for his club; 175 Senior, 20 Reserves and 29 at Under19 level.
Cliff was made a life member of West Brunswick AFC in 1973 and continues to support his club to the current day. Cliff was awarded “Legend of the West in 2008.
Cliff coached West Brunswick’s U19 team for 3 seasons (1972 – 1974) and was appointed Senior Coach in 1975.
Supported by his wife, Mavis, a very keen VAFA supporter and key West Brunswick member, Cliff served his club as Honorary Treasurer for 11 years (1961-71) and as Honorary Secretary for 7 years (1968-72, 1976 & 1979)
Cliff was a member of the VAFA Executive in 1977 and received the VAFA’s Certificate of Merit in 1986. In 1996 Cliff was made a Life Member of the VAFA and continues to take a keen interest in the game at amateur level.
