Yarra Valley returned to the Division 2 top four and ended a two-game losing streak with a hard-fought four-point victory over Eltham in a seesaw contest at Doncaster Reserve. Trailing by one point at the last break, the Bushrangers registered 2.6 to 2.1 in the fourth, combating an amazing nine-goal haul from Turtles forward, Ben Gill. Ross Little and Chris Hodgens kicked three goals each for the Bushrangers.

West Brunswick solidified second spot on the Division 2 ladder with a monster 99-point win against Richmond Central at Kevin Bartlett Reserve. Chris Germon top scored with seven majors for the Westies, and Chris Simpson ran riot in his second BOG performances in three matches. Josh Sharp kicked three of the Snakes’ four goals for the game and Doduo pecked away at the ball, but little could be done to stop the onslaught as the Snakes remain winless in 2016.

Bulleen Templestowe made it three wins for the season as they upset Melbourne High School Old Boys to the tune of nine points at Ted Ajani Reserve. Trailing by six points at the main break, the Bullants nailed five goals to two in the third term and held on for the much-needed relegation-staving win. Brodie McLaughlin was named best afield for the Bullants, while Billy Wilson (BT) and Nick Hawking (MHSOB) kicked three goals each.

St John’s maintained their dominance over the rest of the competition in Division 2, defeating Emmaus St Leo’s by 17 points at Thomas Carroll Reserve. Rohan Scott kicked three goals for the JOCs and Dylan Webb was named BOG, while Paul Baranello and Daniel Hill kicked two each for the sixth-placed Animals.
