Former SKOB assistant Peta Searle to launch new women’s football academy

Former SKOB assistant Peta Searle to launch new women’s football academy

Former St Kevin’s senior assistant coach and current St Kilda FC development coach, Peta Searle, will launch her new women’s football academy at Trevor Barker Oval this Friday night.

In a bid to provide “women and girls with an elite atmosphere to enable them to develop in their football craft”, the academy will run from 4pm weekly until AFL preliminary final weekend and provide women of all ages first-class training ahead of the implementation of both the AFL and VAFA’s women’s competitions in 2017.

Details of the academy can be found on the flyer below.

The academy bodes well for the VAFA’s women’s competition in 2017 and gives interested females a chance to hone their skills and hit the ground running prior to next year.

The VAFA’s first-ever women’s match was held three weeks ago between West Brunswick and Bulleen Templestowe at Ransford Oval.
