MUWFC is set for a return to VAFA footy in 2021 after they recently locked in their senior coaching staff.

The Mugars, who will celebrate their 25th anniversary next season, will be led by senior co-coaches Erini Gianakopoulos and Martha Cantwell.

Gianakopoulos led the women’s team to the William Buck Premier flag in 2018, while Cantwell re-joins the club after stints with Maroochydore Roos (QWAFL), Calder Cannons and the Melbourne Uni Nationals team.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to be working with MUWFC during their 25th anniversary and can’t wait to see what the season holds for the club, players, staff and broader community,” Cantwell told muwfc.com.

“It’s a big year for us and, like others, I can’t wait to get started. How great is it going to be when we can get to work – bring on the pre-season.”

Chris Spindler and Alistair Hardie will lead the MUWFC reserves side, while Abbey Watts and Teghan Kerr were recently announced as the club’s high performance team.
