The VAFA congratulates Ben Huggard from St Bernard’s who has been named the Round 9 Grill’d Rising Star after his
“Ben has been at St Bernard’s since Under 9 and played in the back to back under 17 Premiership teams. He played at Calder Cannons last year as a listed Essendon VFL player. He is known around the club for training sometimes with his mates in the Under 19 team prior to participating in Senior training. Although still Developing physically Ben has enormous courage and has cat like in his defensive second efforts similar to Dustin Fletcher. He has had a stellar first half this year and has regularly been in the best players.
