Kevin Sheedy proposed the toast to the VAFA and David Parkin, the VAFA’s ambassador for the 150 years celebration was the guest speaker. The Minister for Sport, James Merlino was also in attendance including MCC CEO Stephen Gough, Chairman of Cricket Victoria Geoff Tamblyn and CEO of AFL Victoria Peter Schwab.
At the end of the evening on behalf of the AFL, Kevin Sheedy donated a signed Big V jumper and attendance in the rooms of the All Star match before the game and a photo with he and the Vic coach Bomber Thompson. This money raised was to be donated to the charity that the VAFA support – cystic fibrosis. The winning bid of $2000 was made by Old Camberwell President Phil Cramer who immediately donated it to Stephen Murby, CEO of Cystic Fibrosis, to present to a child suffering with the illness.
Former VFL star and previous CEO of the VAFA, Phil Stevens was awarded life membership.
