JACK WATTS TAKES OUT 2008 WOODROW MEDAL

In a tight count, Jack polled 2 votes in the last round to just pip out Matthew Smith of Old Brighton (18 votes) who also had a stellar season. In equal third position on 15 votes was last years Woodrow medal winner Hayden Heta with De La Salle midfielder Michael Duggan.
In B Section, the GT Moore medal was awarded to Old Haileybury gun on-baller and former Magarey medallist (SANFL Best and Fairest) Tony Brown (23 votes)who held on despite missing the last two rounds with a hand injury. In equal second position was St Kevins captain Ben Dowd and Old Essendon midfielder Tim Biggs on 21 votes.
In C Section, the LS Zachariah medal was taken out by AJAX on-baller Jason Ritterman on 24 votes.in an exciting count, Ritterman polled 3 votes in the last round to just pip out previous two time Zachariah medallist Simon Keleher (23 votes) from Ormond.
In D1 Section, Sebastian Mahoney from South Melb Districts and Paul Florance of Bulleen Templestowe tied for the D1 section Best and Fairest on 14 votes in another exciting count. In D2 Section Paul Baranello from Emmaus St Leos took out the D2 best and fairest award. D3 Section saw Richard Ogge from Hawthorn AFC comfortably win the D3 Section best and fairest as well as the Leading Goalkicker award. And in D4 it was West Brunswick Midfielder Bill Irving who took out the award with a strong finish to his season.
