THE NATIONAL ALTITUDE TRAINING CENTRE
Mr Greg Simpson, the Operations Manager has the following available to VAFA clubs.
The NATC is geographically convenient (only 5 hours by road from Melbourne, yet isolated enough to minimize distractions and allow a great degree of focus on training.
The atmosphere in Falls Creek is ideal for the sports minded, with a wide range of disciplines utilizing our facilities and enjoying the cross-training and networking opportunities on offer.
Our Program Director Steve Moneghetti and Head Coach Nic Bideau can work with VAFA coaches to customize training programs to take full advantage of the specific Falls Creek environment.
Here is some more information about accommodation in Falls Creek, our price, and exactly what that price will get you. Weโ€™ve found that the majority of our clients require self-contained accommodation, enabling them to prepare their own food.
$55.00 per person, per night:
Pre-camp planning โ€“ advice and assistance with catering, travel, food shopping, transportation, and training requirements
Greeting upon arrival and assistance with check-in
A thorough compendium containing local history, details of sporting facilities, maps of the village, trails and landmarks, details of medical facilities, a calendar of Falls Creek events, and a photo gallery of NATC participants from previous years, including anecdotes and comments on memorable Falls Creek experiences
Comfortable, high standard accommodation with fully equipped kitchen and cooking facilities
Bedrooms which sleep two to four, with all linen and towels provided
In most cases, there is one bathroom per bedroom
Secure storage space for sporting equipment
Falls Creek-specific training program overseen by Steve Moneghetti and Nic Bideau, including cross-training in a range of Falls Creek facilities, customized to the requirements of the VAFA coaches
Access to meeting/stretching room with heated floor
Occasional motivational talks and Q&A sessions by some of the legends of Australian and international sport
Advice, assistance and directions by local mountain guide
Complimentary meet-and-greet barbecue, attended by NATC participants including coaches and Olympians (weekly from mid December until early February)
Bookings are based on a three-night minimum, and are subject to availability.
A range of other services, such as catering, massage, or poolside yoga sessions are available upon request.
