Captain Andrew Hickey was runner up after his career best season. Captain Sam Baring was the popular winner of the Under 19 B&F and Rob Guerra took home the Reserves award. Under 19 coach Bruce Waldron was recognized as the Best Clubman and the hugely popular head trainer Peter “Pistol” Russell was awarded life membership of the Club.
President Marcus Spencer was pleased to announce that Bruce Waldron has been appointed senior coach for 2009 after a thorough selection process. Bruce is an experienced coach at both junior and senior levels and has had a massive impact on the Club since taking on the Under 19 coaching role 5 years ago. His preparation and enthusiasm are legendary and all at the Club should look forward to an exciting time with Bruce at the helm.
Spencer also thanked outgoing coach and Club legend Andrew McGregor for his efforts over 3 years as senior coach and retired reserves coach James JD Donelly for his outstanding service.
