Trevor brings with him a huge amount of high quality football experience and knowledge to take the club to the next level. To join him in the senior coaching team as assistant coaches Travis Derricott, Brad Hancock and Scott Graham who all share in Trevor’s enthusiasm. We are also proud to announce Stuart Kofoed who will become the new conditioning and fitness coach.
Old Carey are also very excited to announce Paul Newton who has been appointed as the under 19’s coach. Paul is very passionate about securing the long term success of the under 19’s program
2008 PLAYER AWARDS
Tom Evans won his second consecutive Old Carey senior Best and Fairest, this time by the barest of margins edging joint runners-up Julian Rowe and Steven Freemantle by a solitary vote, 84 to 83.
All Three had great seasons as Old Carey consolidated in B Section, and all under 25 will hopefully form a potent combination for many seasons. Stephen Collins comfortably won the reserves best and fairest despite only playing for half the season with work commitments, while Scott Virtue who played the final three games in the senior side won the U19 best and fairest in only his first season of football!
Coming from a soccer background Scott decided to play football with his mates, and with great pace and skill was an instant success. Ruckman Matthew Roach was runner-up. Another club vetern, Nick Everett took out the Club XVIII best and fairest.
