Some points of note regarding the 2009 fixture –
– Round 9 will be Community Football Round with no AFL matches in Melbourne and “rivalry” matches scheduled
– All sections commence on April 18th
– Anzac Day matches (Round 2) will commence at 12pm for reserves and 2.30pm for seniors
– All sections except for D4 will have a 3 week finals series with D4 being conducted after 4 weeks
– A and B Sections only have an additional bye on the July 18th representative weekend, enabling the finals series to be staggered between sections
– All sections have a bye over the June Long Weekend

June 6th – VAFA U21 v AFLQ U21 – Melbourne
June 7th – VAFA C-D4 v VCFL Districts – Barooga
June 7th – VAFA U23 v WAAFL U23 – Perth
July 19th – VAFA U19 v VCFL U19 – Melbourne
July 19th – VAFA v VCFL – Brian Molony Cup – Melbourne
