Mazenod OCFC has appointed Paddy Steinfort as senior coach and Adrian Connolly as Senior Assistant Coach for season 2011.
Paddy Steinfort started his junior football career with Mazenod OCFC before progressing to TAC Cup level where he achieved U18 All-Australian status.
Paddy was a first round pick by Richmond FC in the 1996 AFL draft and was with the Tigers for 5 years. Paddy then joined Coburg in the AFL where he captained the club and assisted senior coach Alan Richardson.
A qualified physiotherapist, Paddy worked in South Australia dealing with elite athletes before taking over as lead facilitator for Leading Teams New Zealand. In this role Paddy worked with the New Zealand Cricket and Soccer Teams, two Rugby Super 14 outfits and the two national basketball teams. Paddy’s role was to design and deliver leadership and culture programs for these teams.
Paddy worked with Mazenod OCFC in 2010 to start building our own leadership programs and the club saw first hand his outstanding man management qualities. Paddy continues the enormous links between the club and the Steinfort family over the years – father Paul, a premiership player and club captain, brothers Danny, Carl and Tom all senior players.
His senior assistant Adrian Connolly is the Director of Sport at Mazenod College and has also coached the College’s senior team for the last 6 years. Adrian is a level 2 Accredited Coach and has been involved with VAFA coaching for the last 9 years. Adrian was an U19 coach at Ormond FC before moving onto the senior role in 2003-4. Adrian assumed the Assistant Coach role at De La Salle (2005-2008) and more recently at St Bede’s/Mentone Tigers FC (2009-10).
