Uni Blues came from a six goal quarter time deficit to defeat De La Salle by nearly that margin. Jack Watts booted seven for the Varsity, while Steve Muller kicked five for the home team. Old Xavs beat Old Melburnians, Matt Handley landing a Michelle, while Andre Ramsden’s six saw Old Trinity sink Old Scotch. St Bede’s Mentone Tigers outlasted Old Haileybury in a low-scoring affair.
Caulfield Grammarians dropped their first to Uni Blacks, who pushed away at the end to win by 20 points. Al Evans slipped through seven for Marcellin, but it was not enough to win its Premier B contest with Beauy, which got six from Matt Petering. Oakleigh and Bernies played tight all day at the Snakepit, but the Krushers got home by a point. Old Brighton clubbed Old Ivanhoe, with tom Mentiplay kicking eight. Phil Edgar kicked five as SKOBs blasted Hampton Rovers.
Old Camberwell shocked Werribee Districts at GBO. Rupertswood won a thriller against Ormond, the Nodders got five from Jake Beard and defeated the Bombers. David Fayman and Will Pickering swapped fives, but the Jackers got the points from the Roys. Ryan Parsons had a lucky seven as Monash Blues whipped the Unicorns. Div 1 game of the day was at Willy, where the CYs drew with NOBs. Wong kicked five for the Baysiders, while Todd Patterson kicked seven for the Combine. Leader Banyule stayed unbeaten, defeating Peninsula. Old Geelong torched Bulleen-Temp, the Friars pitchforked Mentonians, while Parkdale larruped Paradians despite Dave Boundy’s five goals.
In Division 2, Glenn Boyd kicked seven as Glen Eira went 10-0, belting Old Westbourne. Stuey Patten nailed six as La Trobe whacked St May’s Salesian. Eltham won the Battle of the E’s, beating Emmaus St Leo’s. St John’s ripped Aquinas, while Therry Penola had little trouble with SMD.
In Division 3, Adam Sleight kicked ten an Luke Giansiracusa five as the four Blues beat Mt Lilydale by 27 goals. Rhys Kirk kicked five as UHS-VU slapped Power House. Ivanhoe upset Yarra Valley and Elsternwick, with Aaron Thornton booting six, shocked Monash Gryphons. The consistent Andy Brazzale kicked five as Kew beat Hawthorn and the Bankers beat West Brunswick by 26 points.
Pat Notaro slammed home eleven as North Brunswick dumped South Mornington, who got five from Kyle Gascoigne. Manningham Cobras came home stronger than Point Cook, Scott McPherson scoring seven for the cobs and Aaron Marsh getting six for the Cookies. The Stationmasters triumphed over the Razorbacks, SFX whipped EleyPark with Ben Spencer kicking nine and Dwayne Scott five. Box Hill North are back on the winners’ list after tipping Chadstone.
