
Bullants on a streak, whilst Kew and Ormond are yet to drop
Round 4 in Division 1 saw the Preston Bullants claim their third consecutive win with an emphatic victory over Therry Penola, whilst Kew and Ormond have continued their unbeaten streak.
VAFA Chief Executive Michael Sholly announced today that Tim Noonan will assume the role of General Manager, Football Operations, beginning in August.
Mr Noonan, 40, is currently the principal of a local primary school and also a member of the West Coast Eagles Melbourne-based match day staff. He has had previous experience with the Eastern Ranges in the TAC competition and played some VAFA football with De La Salle U19s.
He holds a Masters of Business and Sport Management from Deakin University and a Bachelors degree in Education from Edith Cowan University.
“We have selected Tim from a strong field of candidates. The calibre of those seeking to join the VAFA is a tribute to its reputation in the wider sporting community,” Mr Sholly said.
“We are delighted to have Tim joining us. He has a strong background in the theory and practice of sports and I’m sure will make a great addition to our staff and will be of great assistance to our clubs and to the VAFA,” he said.
“I’m thrilled over the appointment and look forward to getting my teeth into the role,” Mr Noonan said.
“The VAFA is widely known as Australia’s premier community football competition and I’m keen to make a strong contribution to its future,” Noonan said.
