De La Salle continues charge as ladder tightens
Round 13 of the Holmesglen Under 19 Premier competition produced another weekend of significant results, with the race for finals tightening at one end of the ladder and the battle
VAFA pair Jack Hellier (St Bede’s/Mentone Tigers) and Matthew Boland (Parkdale Vultures), both on permit to Collingwood, have been chosen in the VFL Representative squad for the clash with Tasmania on 26 May.
Hellier and Boland were picked up by the Pies through the VAFA’s Elite Pathway Program which also saw Hellier’s Brindisi Street teammate and 2011 Club Warehouse Rising Star Damiel Garside chosen by Bendigo.
Former Old Haileybury star Shane Valenti was also picked in the squad.
