Collegians overran Old Scotch by 39 points at Sportscover Arena today to move back into the top two and the double chance place whilst Old Scotch find themselves outside the four for the first time in 2012.
Both sides were trying to snap two game losing streaks going into the break.
It was Scotch who came to play early with a display of high quality football and a five goal to one opening quarter.
The Cardinals had the breeze but their skill execution early told of a side that was ‘on’ for this contest.
The second quarter saw Collegians squander some chances, only kicking 4.4 for the term.
They had an extra man advantage too after Ashley Lim was red carded for a high bump on Chris Blumfield but Scotch continued to play good footy, managing 2.3 for the quarter to lead by 13 at half time.
In the premiership quarter the football was anything but premiership quality as both sides struggled with the blustery conditions.
Collegians had whittled down the lead to three points at the final change and with the breeze at their back in the last term most fancied the Lions.
The final quarter was all positives Collegians as Jorgensen was moved forward to cover the injured Nick Sauntner, he managed to kick 2.1 for the quarter.
Cam Lee was a livewire peppering the goals to finish with 2.3 for the day and Nick Ries, Josh Kamenar and Jack Bull all continued to run and carry the ball with precision.
Collegians piled seven goals and held Old Scotch goalless to to leave the Cardinals outside the final four to Old Carey on percentage after 11 rounds.
There is no Premier Football next weekend and Round 12 resumes 22 July.
