De La Salle gained valuable percentage in the race to secure a double chance downing Old Trinity by 120 points at Sportscover Arena today.
Old Trinity started in promising fashion with a five goal opening quarter but only managed to boot one goal in the next two quarters of football while at the other end it rained goals.
It was fantastic conditions for football and De La Salle brought all their skills to the game in a blistering display from quarter time onwards kicking 21 goals in a row to comprehensively take control of the game.
The Old Trinity goal drought was broken at the 22 minute mark of the last quarter when Nick Chamberlain snapped from the pocket, it stopped the run but didn’t stop the rot.
Old Trinity’s percentage has taken a battering and they now sit a game and percentage from saftey with six rounds to play.
De La Salle had winners all over the ground, leading from the front was their skipper David Lowe with 30 possessions and he was ably assisted by Sam Williams, Aaron Shields, Jacob Gotch with a host of others in dominant form.
The star however was Leigh Harrison with 19 kicks, six handpasses and seven goals for the game in an eye-catching display.
Next week doesn’t get any easier for Old Trinity as they face the reigning premiers Collegians back at Daley Oval and De La Salle host Caulfield Grammarians at Waverley Park.
