Division 3 Live Blog for the L.S. PEPPER MEDAL:
Congratulations to Paul Harris from Ivanhoe who wins on 26 votes from Ethan Roberts of Kew on 23 votes. In Round 18 Rowland secures a vote to move to equal third. No votes for Roberts or Harris in that round nor David Tremewen who also finished equal third.
Incredible vote scoring from Paul Harris who stormed home in the back half of the season. From round 10 to round 17 Harris went: 2, 3, 3, 2, 2, 3, 2, 3 to score 20 votes in 8 games! At round 9 Paul had just 6 votes and trailed Ethan Roberts by 10 votes. After the first nine rounds collecting 16 votes, Roberts went quiet late to only get seven more votes. Harris polled in 11 games whilst Roberts, Rowland and Tremewen polled in 9 games.
Here is the top 20 at the conclusion of the count

10 Daniel Pike Richmond Central
9 Benjamin Trend Yarra Valley

9 PAUL BROUGH Kew
Three vote Nicolas Rowland from his BOG performance takes him to 21 votes and is real chance. But hang on Paul Harris collect three votes of his own to go to 26 and he can’t lose from here. He can share the medal if Ethan Roberts secures three in his last game against St Francis Xavier.
26 Paul Harris Ivanhoe
23 Ethan Roberts Kew
22 David Tremewen Hawthorn
21 Nicholas Rowland UHS-VU
18 Ashleigh Close Ivanhoe
Thanks to the two votes secured against Kew, Paul Harris is now equal leader with Ethan Roberts on 23 votes each at the end of Round 16. David Tremewen is one back on 22 votes, then it’s a 4 vote gap to Nicolas Rowland and Ash Close on 18 votes. With two rounds to go the winner will come from these five names.

At the conclusion of 15 rounds of voting we have five players within 5 votes. Tremewen gets his second BOG in a row to move within one of the lead of Roberts who didn’t poll that round. Harris also secures the three votes and has overtaken teammate Ash Close as Ivanhoe’s most likely medallist. Nick Rowland isn’t going away either as he earns three votes against Richmond Central. Here is the top 10 with three rounds to go.
23 Ethan Roberts Kew
22 David Tremewen Hawthorn
21 Paul Harris Ivanhoe
18 Nicholas Rowland UHS-VU

14 Craig Mahony Elsternwick
13 Nathan Dallas Albert Park
11 Scott Grace* Elsternwick
11 Leigh Toomey Aquinas
Is the medal over? We think not just as Ethan Roberts secures maximum votes for a BOG performance against Richmond so too does David Temewen from Hawthorn for his performance against Old Westbourne. Dimakopoulos also nets three votes from the match against Power House. Albert Park’s Stuart Maunder a former O.J. MEEHAN MEDAL winner (Division 4) also picks up three for his performance against Ivanhoe. It’s still a four vote lead to Roberts though with four rounds to go. Here is the top nine at the end of round 14.
23 Ethan Roberts Kew
19 David Tremewen Hawthorn
18 Paul Harris Ivanhoe
17 Ashleigh Close Ivanhoe
17 Dimitri Dimakopoulos St Francis Xavier
15 Nicholas Rowland UHS-VU
14 Craig Mahony Elsternwick

11 Scott Grace* Elsternwick

At the conclusion of Round 13 Ivanhoe’s Ashley Close is back in contention after his 9 goal display against Richmond earned him the three votes. Nick Rowland from UHS-VU drops to 5th despite earning 1 vote and Paul Harris earns another 2 votes to move to equal second with Close. Here is the top 10.
20 Ethan Roberts Kew
16 Ashleigh Close Ivanhoe
16 David Tremewen Hawthorn
16 Paul Harris Ivanhoe
15 Nicholas Rowland UHS-VU
14 Craig Mahony Elsternwick
14 Dimitri Dimakopoulos St Francis Xavier
13 Nathan Dallas Albert Park
11 Scott Grace* Elsternwick
10 Leigh Toomey Aquinas
10 Darren Baker Power House
10 Simon Yeo Yarra Valley

Round 12 is underway and Paul Harris from Ivanhoe has put a nice little run together scoring his second 3 vote game in a row to move into the top five. Tremewen takes a single vote from Hawthorn’s game with St Francis Xavier to move within four votes of the leader Roberts who remains on 20 votes.
20 Ethan Roberts Kew
16 David Tremewen Hawthorn
14 Nicholas Rowland UHS-VU
14 Dimitri Dimakopoulos St Francis Xavier
14 Paul Harris Ivanhoe
Can anyone stop Ethan Roberts? Surely he is home as he secures another BOG to move to 20 votes overall and he opens up a five vote lead. Robert’s leads from Hawthorn’s David Tremewen who also snares 3 votes to move to outright second with 15 votes over all at the conclusion of round 11.

15 David Tremewen Hawthorn
14 Nicholas Rowland UHS-VU
14 Dimitri Dimakopoulos St Francis Xavier
13 Ashleigh Close Ivanhoe

Dimitri Dimakopoulos of St Francis Xavier gets things going in Round 10 with a 3 vote game against Old Westbourne. Dimakopoulos won the Division 4 Meehan Medal last year as St Francis Xavier got promoted and he is polling well again here. Could he win back to back medals? Roberts takes a single vote from Kew’s match against Power House to move to 17 votes. Ash Close salutes with a best on ground performance to move 3rd overall.
17 Ethan Roberts Kew
14 Dimitri Dimakopoulos St Francis Xavier

We join the count after 9 rounds and we have one player setting the pace early. Kew’s Ethan Robert’s is flying on 16 votes, there is a chasing pack of four players on 11 votes, Nick Rowland (UHS-VU), Craig Mahony (Elsternwick), Dimitri Dimakopoulos (St Francis Xavier) and Nathan Dallas (Albert Park). With the season’s only century goal kicker Ash Close of Ivanhoe close by on 10 votes.
