Mazenod’s Stefan Davis has won the final of the Musashi VAFA TV’s Strongest Man Competition lifting 160kg to defeat Mitch Dupljanin of Eley Park Sharks and Will Oakley of Old Geelong.
The final was held at Musashi’s state of the art gym and was contested in good spirits by the three giants who were nominated by their clubs when VAFA TV visited a club each Thursday night this year.
Stefan won a prize pack valued at $1000 that contained personal training sessions as well as enough Musashi supplements to distribute amongst his teammates.
In the second half of the year the VAFA TV Strongest Man competition took on a life of its own.
Clubs and players were often petitioning on our Facebook and Twitter pages for VAFA TV to visit as they believed they had the strongest man at the club.
The final was held in an Olympic event with each competitor given three chances to lift the largest amount they could.
To qualify a weight you had to complete three full reps of a bench press.
You can view the final below or on the VAFA TV page of the website to see which other clubs we went to this year.
Musashi were very happy with the competition and we will hopefully work with them to do something similar next year.
In the meantime if you get the chance, head to Musashi’s gym in Notting Hill to check out their elite athlete analysis and programs they have.
Thank you to all clubs for taking part in and having VAFA TV at your club this year, we visited at least one club from every section and were always welcomed by everyone.
